It’s All About Jesus
Most people have an opinion about Jesus. Some believe He’s a great teacher or a prophet. Others believe He didn’t exist at all. Regardless of what we believe, it is clear that Jesus changed things.
If we read the Bible it’s clear that He wants to change you!
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus Claimed To Be God
Plenty of people make the claim that they know God. But Jesus claimed that He was God (and He was). As you can imagine, this upset the religious leaders of His day, so much that they killed Him.
That was over 2,000 years ago. So why does this matter to us now? How can someone who lived and died so many years ago affect your life now in your 9 to 5, trying to keep it all together life?
God, the Creator of the universe, has a purpose for you and your life. He loves you and wants to help you because He is a good God. And because of that you can trust that His plans are better than your plans. You don’t have to measure up to some impossible religious standard to know Him. You just have to take a few simple steps.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
You don’t have to be perfect. Through His death on the cross, and then coming back from the dead, Jesus took all of your wrong and gave you all of His right. If you believe that and commit to following Him, your life will never be the same. It’s as simple as repenting of your sin, declaring you want to follow Jesus, and believing He is who He says He is.
The first step in declaring with your mouth can be a simple prayer. While it’s what you believe in your heart and not the prayer that saves you, the prayer is an out word step or evidence of an internal faith.
The prayer can be something like this,
“Dear God I confess that I am a sinner and that because of my sin I am eternally separated from you. Today I am asking you to forgive my sin based on what Jesus did for me on the cross. I believe He died on that cross for me, was buried in a borrowed tomb, and rose victorious over death three days later. I thank you for giving Your Son for my salvation. Thank you God for saving me. Now help me be the best Christian I can be. In Jesus Name amen!”
Believing in Jesus is the first step on the greatest journey of your life. You have not finished the race—you’ve just started. The best is yet to come!
